2010 Hank Beachell Fellows

Six Nebraska Hank Beachell Fellows attended the 2010 Global Youth Institute at the Normal E. Borlaug International Symposium, Des Moines, Iowa, October 14-16, 2010. Dignitaries, activists and leading agricultural experts traveled to the event from 65 countries. The Nebraska students were chosen based on their essays on “Solutions for the World’s Smallholder” and were among students from 16 states and six foreign nations.

USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack announced the unique opportunity for each of the students to receive a summer internship at a USDA facilities once they are a college student.
