with an
Celebration and African Art Auction

$100,000 Evening!

African Painting

Malaika Foundation is proud to announce $100,000 raised. The money from the auction, ticket sales, corporate donations and matching funds from Fund For Teachers, is supporting the adventure of our Nebraska teachers next summer!

Over 200 persons attended the night-time event in Joslyn Museum’s Grand Fountain Room. Filling the museum with exuberant sound and kicking off the evening, Charles Ahovissi and the African Culture Connection group drummed and danced. High Plains Bison, provided by Joe Ricketts, and Kobrand St. Francis wines were served as appetizers.

First the Nebraska Global Award presentation went to Malaika benefactor Kenneth Morrison of Hastings, Nebraska. Then the world class auctioneers Ronnie Woodward, Russ Moravec, and Bruce McDowell sold in excellent high plains fashion 33 pieces of African Art contributed by Natalie Hahn, Malaika Founder.
